Background

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is a professional organization for registered professional nurses and student nurses, both male and female, representing many cultures and diverse ethnic backgrounds. Chi Eta Phi Sorority was founded in 1932 at Freemen's Hospital, School of Nursing, Washington, D.C.

Mission

The mission of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated is to provide service for humanity, elevate the plane of nursing and to increase interest in the nursing profession.

Sigma Chapter's History

The Sigma Chapter was the 1st chapter to be chartered in Jacksonville, Fl on October
11, 1958 at the Club El Dorado by 40 members.
